The Musical Theatre program is a career preparation course for those students who are serious about pursuing a career in the performing arts. This advanced diploma consists of over 35 hours of weekly studio time with opportunities to perform through most of the six terms. Students will refine their rehearsal and performance skills in acting, singing, dancing, screen acting, audition techniques, voice-over and learn the business side of the profession. With faculty drawn from the professional theatre and screen industries, the combination of this comprehensive training and the opportunity to study with working professionals will increase the chances of success for the graduates of this program. Basic requirements Current high school students Grade 12 students can apply for conditional admission based on their final Grade 11 and/or interim Grade 12 marks by uploading their most recent grades (e.g., unofficial transcript or a report card) through EducationPlannerBC. Final admission depends on high school graduation and meeting the specific requirements of the program. Note: Applicants from B.C high schools must release their grades to CapU via the BC Ministry of Education at Student Transcripts Services (STS) as soon as possible. |
